It begins anew

Yes, I have set up a whole new blog. I like WordPress, and I even set up a wordpress blog once on a personal hosted site a while back. As with so many things in my life, I like to use it, but I hate to manage it. Now WordPress is hosting, and I’m back to WordPress.

I have a feeling my life is about to become chaotic. I’m anticipating a shift in my focus at work, something that seems to be the harbinger of trouble. I don’t like instability anywhere in my life, and work least of all. I’m nervous, and it’s beginning to show.

That, and I’m looking back at 2007 with a big sigh. Politics. Microsoft. The kids. Work. All have given me grief, and I really don’t think I accomplished what I wanted to last year. I kinda just rolled through it and let things happen. I survived, which is something in itself. My sanity is more or less intact.

What do I have to look forward to in 2008? Well, for one, getting someone else voted into the White House, for one. Bush has got to go. I can only hope that the next president has the good sense to undo the harm Bush did to this country, starting with the “Patriot” act. Patriot my ass.

A shift in focus at work, as I mentioned. Always nerve-wracking, but exciting at the same time. I can’t tell you how pissed I am at Microsoft. Same old stuff. The guys who had any sense at all are gone, replaced by the undercover monopolists finding any way they can to get users boxed in to Microsoft-only configurations. Clever, to a point. Only time will tell if Microsoft is shooting themselves in the foot, which I believe they are. I’m not sitting down on this one. It will definitely be an interesting year.

Hawaii. Need I say more? The parents-in-law are celebrating 40 years of marriage, and we get to go to the party.

I’m trying to write every day, in one form or another. I’ll do my best to keep this thing going. No promises. I don’t make promises I can’t keep.
