Things I don't get

I was driving out from a supermarket recently. As I pulled out and turned to leave, down the row, I noticed a teen boy getting out of the car. I started down the row, obviously going in his direction. The boy had a “hoodie” on and was looking at his cell phone. He walked out into the row. Right in front of my car. Head down. I had to swerve to miss him as I honked my horn. He looked up… and kept walking.

What is up with that? What is he thinking, that someone won’t hit him? He probably weighs a hundred pounds. My car weighs almost two tons. Even if I was sent to jail for hitting him, he’s probably dead, or worse, maimed for life. I don’t get that kind of attitude. I really don’t.
